We cant even comprehend what it will be like in 100 years much less 10,000. Technology will be so far past us that I think humans and AI will merge as one. Think Transcendence.

Yea well, growing up in the 70's we had expectations for the future too. I'm still waiting for my flying car.

If you subscribe to the idea of a technological singularity.. it's quite literally impossible to predict.

Humans in their current configuration probably won't exist.

This world will be gone way before 10k years. Probably less than 20 the way things are going. God can only put up with so much.

Few 100 percent biological human beings at that time, for whatever reason.

Honestly, this isn't a very bold prediction considering that there are many human beings who aren't 100% "biological" right now. Granted, we have started small, but I have titanium in my knee and spine and there are many who have "artificial" appendages and implants.

I predict that, in as few as 100 years, there will be few non-biological implants and that whatever medical enhancements and repairs are done to the human body will be accomplished mostly by manufactured, biological tissues made to genetically match the recipient.

We won't be here in 10,000 years. Hell we won't be here in 1000 years.

A lot of up to date charts have us at 11 Billion people at 2100. I firmly believe mother nature will do something to correct that number. The question is, how many is too many and too late? Many people credit the Renaissance due to the black Plague taking care of over population in Europe. I think either a natural disaster (Super volcano's like yellow stone) or a Super-Bug will wipe out a decent amount of people to bring us back down. But imagine how many eruptions and such will happen between 10,000 years. That is time for plates to shift noticeably, ice ages to happen, asteroids from the sky, etc. Will our technology be able to help us survive these things?

Humans to split into sub species

quote:

Humanity may split into two sub-species in 100,000 years' time as predicted by HG Wells, an expert has said.

Evolutionary theorist Oliver Curry of the London School of Economics expects a genetic upper class and a dim-witted underclass to emerge.

The human race would peak in the year 3000, he said - before a decline due to dependence on technology.

People would become choosier about their sexual partners, causing humanity to divide into sub-species, he added.

The descendants of the genetic upper class would be tall, slim, healthy, attractive, intelligent, and creative and a far cry from the "underclass" humans who would have evolved into dim-witted, ugly, squat goblin-like creatures

The eloi and morlocks are coming.
