Baseball wise : the flat bill or "Rican (Puerto Rican) bill" was explained to me by Mike Fotenot at Skip Bertman camp. He said infielders wear their hats like that so they have full vision to their left and right.

Off the field wise : It's a style? Everyone has their own. I personally think men shouldn't wear hats at all. Buy some shades if the suns in your eyes.

Redneck social stigmas don't affect me.

Nothing will ever be worse than the hats with the flaps on the back worn during the 80's.

A flat bill does do one thing better.

When backwards while mowing in the dead of summer it keeps the neck from getting toasty.

I literally have one which I only wear when on the mower or in the yard....20 minutes from the rest of the population's eyesight.

I would rather a flatbill worn properly than any hat turned backward

If you're referring to French Legionnaire-style caps, then you can just step back right now.

I say we try getting past the baseball hat for a change, you know, just to see what happens.

At first it was mainly black people that did this like rappers but now it is more prevalent with white kids especially upper class whites.

I personally can't stand it, I think it looks ridiculous especially on white guys.

I opened this thread, saw who the OP was and literally thought to myself "I bet this post references them damn hoodlum blacks".

Yes these. How about a combo of the two?

FWIW In my own clinic I do have dress code rules. If you have obscene tats or clothes with obscene or drug references I make you leave and cover them up or change. Also no affliction, Ed Hardy or Tapout shirts. Pull up your pants so I can't see your underwear. And lastly no flatbills. Go home and change or get your medical care elsewhere. If you are a douche who doesn't like it, I don't want you as a patient.
