Drive past it often and refuse to set foot on it because of the tiger. Usually go to the other station across the interstate for a coke and a whizz if needed. It's just wrong to have that tiger there.

Don't really care. It is a cat. Not a human. No one would be making a fus if he kept his dog in there..

What makes a big cat more important than any other animal?

Space is definitely lacking.

I pulled over there while driving back to Nola , and needed a nap. When I saw that setup, I decided to take a nap, dropped a deuce in their bathroom, then drove across the street to fill up and buy smokes. I wasn't gonna give them my money.

I remember even Leo Dicaprio tweeted about this. Obviously he was disgusted being an animal rights activist and all.

I would be pissed if someone kept a dog in the equivalent space. If someone kept their dog on a crate 24 hours a day, that'd be screwed up. Not to mention tigers aren't a domesticated animal. But you can tell that tiger is basically in jail, with his only view being guys getting blowies from hobos.

It's not that I think it is cool or condone it. I just don't care.

Maybe we could raise tuition again and just build a tiger cage that stretches from Tiger Stadium to Gross Tete?

inhumane

Should this refer to humans behaving indecently? If it's up for debate then it's not inhumane.

FWIW - I've been stopping there since I was a kid. I'd rather look at a tiger than a concrete jungle the bunch of truckers at every other truck stop.

It's not necessarily inhumane, but it's absolutely not good.

I refuse to go there for that reason alone. Wish more people would do the same, but stupid Texans and Gumps can stop there and show their kids "the LSU tiger" and be back on the road in 15 minutes.

I think they have the right to have a pet fricking tiger if they want. I've never been there though. Not because I avoid it but because I'm never out that way.

Trashy, trashy, trashy. I've never stopped there, because if I need gas, Cokes or snacks on the way to Lafayette/Lake Charles/Houston, I'll hit Port Allen first. But after all the bullshite with this a-hole owner, I have no plans to ever go there.
Seems to me that it's a throwback to the 1950s or 1960s, when people actually got out of their cars to show their kids something like a tiger in a cage. It's 2015. People are more aware of how animals are being treated and putting a tiger in a little-arse cage by I-10 ain't cutting it anymore.

Pretty trashy. But the dude has a right to do it.

Question, does anyone know if the owner actually attended LSU?

As far as why I should value the life of one more than the other? No, I don't.

Dogs have personality, and personality counts for a lot.
