I usually just buy a badger 1/2 hp from Lowes or HD. The 1/2 or even 3/4 is worth the extra $ over the 1/3

I bought a Waste King (higher end model) about 6 years ago and it was not only easy to install but has worked flawlessly since then.

I've got an insinkerator evolution select plus 3/4 HP. $220 from Home Depot. Can barely hear it.

I have a 1HP waste king. It'll tear through chicken bones or suck a whole carrot through in 1 second.

I have a 1hp Waste King that handles anything that I throw at it. It came with a lifetime warranty but I think they only offer a 20 year warranty on them now.

Thing is dead silent, has a reverse function to help clear clogs and is all stainless.
I've had mine for over 10 years now with zero problems. Thing is a fricking mule and takes anything I throw at it and has never clogged.
