What are you doing at 26 to get there? I know at 26, 24 years seems like forever but, To be a multi-millionaire by 50 you would need to be able to bank what like 83-85K a year every year? And that would be for $2 mil liquid. Now factor in the land, house, and normal day to day expenses and charities, you would reasonably need to average somewhere in the $250K range to bank $83K to be at $2 mil by 50 years old. So depending on how much you want to pass down to your family after you're gone I hope you invest well and have a hellacious tax shelter. Estate taxes will wax a good chunk of that 2 million.

Yes. however, my point is how many 26 year olds are in a position to bank that kind of cash to earn that type of interest and still keep up with an elevated lifestyle he would like to lead. Not saying not possible. Hell he could hit the lotto or invent a Keyboard Troll eliminator device and score big cash in a hurry.

I'm 62. In the statistical (but dubious in my case) chance that I live to be 78, that means I have another 16 years of life. About the only goal that has meaning at this point is to not outlive myself. That's the only thing that matters to me.

I work in IT making about 85K per year gross, not rich by any means but I try to live a fairly frugal lifestyle. However, I'm determined to start my own business from the ground up within the next 4 years. If I manage to do well, I think I can meet my goals 20 years from now.

I know it's ambitious and may not happen, but I'm a firm believer in setting goals for yourself. I think it's important to go after it while you're young. Nothing wrong with setting the bar high.

I'm 26 - my goal is to retire by 50 as a multimillionaire, own a lot of land in the country with a nice home, and have plenty of money to pass down to my family when I pass. I'd also like to have enough money to donate 6 or 7 figures to a top cancer research charity (assuming we still have no cure). I'd like to live a very simple life the last 20-30 years on this earth if possible, in the comfort of my own home.

I am on track for most of this, not the country home. But will retire a multi-millionaire by 50.

For myself all I want is to be a free man. Own all my own property outright, have no debt, and to be financially independent and stable.

For my future children I want to be the best father I can be, give them a better life than I had, and live long enough to see them grow up and have children of their own.

1. Raise a family and be able to take care of then financially, emotionally, etc
2. Step foot on every continent in the world (1/7 so far )
3. Stay healthy

Stay with my husband till death parts us and that our marriage is a happy and healthy one.

If God-willing we have a child to give them a better life than we (esp me) had growing up.

Stay healthy enough to still be active as I age.

Grow stronger in my faith and hopefully become more of the person I should be and not the judgmental person I still struggle with.
