Alpenglow. Only lasts a few minutes but to watch the snow on the mountains turn orange, then pink, finally purple before fading into darkness is amazing. Kind of like the northern lights, only much more brief.

When I lived in South La, that smell of sugar cane burning.....another indication that fall was here.

In North La, hearing the geese come over the first time of a year.

The first time you smell a fireplace burning in the neighborhood.

Dang, I should rename mine "reminders that fall is here".
