I am trying to save on some of my utility expenses. Can anyone give any advice on cheaper phone plans

Right now I am still on my family plan with ATT and we pay over 200 per month.

I am considering getting my own plan.

Do you guys use any of the plans on these sites.

Tracfone brah. I pay about $10/mo for a cheap smartphone with Verizon coverage. Key is to not talk alot and mostly use texts. Works for me but probably not for most. Use google voice when I want to make long conversation calls.

I'm on a T-Mobile prepaid plan w/5GB high speed data, unlimited texts, and 100 minutes/month for $30. Great deal if you don't talk on the phone much.

ETA: Also, music streaming doesn't count against data.

Depends on your location. I haven't had any issues in N. GA, but I'm sure the overall coverage isn't as good as ATT/Verizon. I'd check the coverage map for your area and where you travel.

Is this before the cost of your phones is factored in?

One of the biggest ways to save on your bill is to buy a used phone and use something like Cricket. The cost of the phone is what really raises the overall price of the plan.

Some of the Wifi heavy options like Project Fi are reasonably priced, but are heavily dependent upon where you use your phone the most. Ultimately you have to decide how flexible you can be.
