I don't get free drinks and meals on these planes, so no.

Soft drinks are free, alcohol is not.

I'm ok with the lack of a meal if I can keep the airfare cheap. This is a budget carrier after all.

as a business traveler, I don't ever see myself getting on a southwest plane

i see the draw for price, though...i just hate the mad house that they have in boarding and whatnot

Delta is now officially my go to airline and I will pay a little more to avoid this horrible airline.

We had a snowstorm up here in mid-February and Delta held me on a plane with no food and little water for almost 7 hours--after rebooking me from First to economy because of an earlier delay (first flight was cancelled). I get that they can't control the weather and the pilot came out to speak to me personally about their intentions--good man. The flight attendants were pissy, though I get that they were unhappy and were tired of getting their asses chewed about policies they couldn't control.

At this point I've flown a few hundred thousand miles on Delta, have a Delta Reserve Amex, and am pretty much pot committed, but they aren't perfect.

They did refund my fare and gave me 25,000 bonus miles (not MQMs) and let me keep the MQDs in spite of the refund, but I had to write a damned 10 page letter for that.

None of our domestic carriers really excel at customer service.

I would consider them if they flew to more markets. I like the idea of letting the wife fly for free with me

I have had nothing but good experiences with Southwest so I stick with them. I flew Delta once or twice but didn't like them.

That's a trade off for getting less ancillary revenue than the other airlines through baggage and meals, so they have to get more of it in the base fare right?

In my experience

Delta by far the best

US Airways the worst

American and United in the middle

Never flown Southwest

I fly United quite a bit since my family (now) lives out east. Both Chicago and Newark have a lot of United flights. Honestly, I've had very minimal trouble.

I've also flown JetBlue quite a bit between Chicago-Boston-JFK. Great airline.

Delta is another airline I used to fly in college when I'd go home for breaks, etc. No complaints, either.

Thinking about it, I've had some incredible luck when it comes to flying. I don't think I've ever had a flight cancelled on me and very rarely am I ever delayed significantly.

And miss out on Delta's 5 star brick sandwiches? Heaven forbid.

American for me. I seem to always have a problem when I fly with them (or don't like yesterday when I rented a car and drove home).

Delta was the worst....but something happened 4-5 years ago and they started to try. Now they are, IMO, the best domestic airline.

I realize that's like being the thinnest kid in fat camp.....
