Got back yesterday after a 4-day visit.. well mostly 3-day since Friday didn't really count. I mean I knew it was predominately Hispanic, but what I didn't expect was to feel like a foreigner in my own country. I mean God damn no one spoke English. Actually liked it though.

I like the ocean drive area. Still looks like you stepped back in time

I'll take a non English population if they have strong family values. Race be damned.

I was just amazed at the entire area and how massive it is... I know it's technically a bunch of smaller cities within the metropolitan area but just looking at a map it's insane. Getting from Coconut Grove to the Upper East Side where the AirBnB was took forrreeevvveeeerrrrr.

Any 15 mile or so Lyft/Uber ride really took closer to 30-45 minutes.

Also, Miami has some of the worst drivers I've ever seen. Everyone loves their horns too.

the Cubans aren't bad but overall I think Miami sucks, the traffic definitely does, I worked out of Miami for a number of years but the closet I could live to it was about 80 miles north

Cubans don't like the democratic party here. It reminds them of what they escaped from.

4 hour flight delay, because they basically decided to cancel the 4:30 flight and consolidate it into the 8:30 flight (from Charlotte). By the time we got to the AirBnB is was basically midnight.

I liked it.. it was just a bit frustrating at times. Mostly made me annoyed at myself for choosing German in High School/College and not sticking with Spanish they taught us in Middle.

I had the same experience but by the 3rd or 4th time I went back, I loved it.

I feel like (almost) nobody speaking English makes the vacation a little more relaxing.

Plus you can't beat the weather or the water.

Cubans hate dems and no tyranny when they see it. Most South Americans hate dems if they actually came from a oppressed country and not have gang and cartel ties. Most of the Mexicans are literally from right across the boarder and they want what going to allow them to jump back and forth freely and take advantage of the system while getting there whole family here and mooch
