Let me guess, everyone needs to mask up, even thr vaccinated, and shut everything down, right?

this is worse than the flu. And more contagious. I don’t ever remember in my career having the entire hospital fill up with flu patients.

You need to calm down, exercise and eat healthy before you have another coronary.

Are you going to make tik tok videos dancing in the ER to prove how dangerous this really is?

Heck no. I do think we should go back to screening people with symptoms “outside” the ER instead of letting everyone in, grouping them together in the waiting room.

Serious question, why is the gap between new cases and deaths basically the largest it's been the entire pandemic?

I heard about where you had to hold his hand as they were slapping the vent on him, and the last thing he asked for was the vaccine. Which assistant was it again that had to wipe the tear from your cheek when you told him it was too late for that?

Listen I’ll be completely honest. I don’t really pay much attention to all the demographics for this virus. I’m just relaying my experience at the work these past few days and letting people know that the virus seems “amped” up right now. People have been coming in with symptoms a lot more than usual are testing positive. Now a lot of them are going home but it’s affecting more people. And
I’m hearing from workers at other hospitals that they’re having similar experiences. Like I said this isn’t a fear mongering post but with the numbers rising it’s going to affect most us in some way.

Lets derail this thread... You going hand catch any moccasins today?

Not today. Went a couple days ago and only saw 1. Missed the catch.

Even the cottonmouths can’t take this heat.

Covid talk here is OOC but on the topic, I had to admit my elderly mother with severe RA yesterday due to some extra pain mgt. So, here in NETx, the ambulance service had to reroute her to a small hospital in a pretty rural burg as both Longview and Tyler hospital's ER's and patient beds were at capacity. Pretty shocked by that I must say. The staff where I'm at now doesn't know what to think.

ETA: if anyone doubts this, Google the numbers of Christus Good Shepard and Longview Regional. UT Health and Christus Mother Frances in Tyler. Ask away.

I’m sorry to hear this and I hope you can get in somewhere soon to ease her suffering.

I was in the ER for 5 hours on Thursday. Exactly 3 people were wheeled in, and one of them was for dehydration due to a bad case of the trots ;vomiting and diarrhea...hopefully not at the same time). I’m not saying you are lying, it just doesn’t jive with what I personally witnessed.

This seems logical. I was in the waiting room for an hour. It was pretty quiet (although one guy was puking in a bag...I stayed a LOOOOONG way away from him) and there were maybe a dozen people max at any point (not patients...people, so the puking guy was with his wife = one patient, two people).

Still, I kept my distance from everyone.
