and the score of the restaurant went form a 97% score to 84% on the door…

Guess I am going to have food poisoning and diarrhea for the next 24 hours! Oh, the restaurant was packed.

You are a Kentucky football fan.

Mediocreville is where you’ve lived since Bear Bryant left.

You’ll be fine.

Sometimes those scores can drop because someone left a bag of ingredients open next to the dishwashing station, or dirty utensils were not put in the proper area before being washed. I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Any restaurant in New Orleans over 85% is not worth eating at. I like flavor and seasoning in my food.

Food poisoning is a 90% score.... 84% is dick cancer.

The 13% change indicates the food makes you a homosexual.

Way back in college I worked at a local restaurant. We got docked at the place I worked because we didn't have buckets of bleach water with towels in them under each sink. They were under 2 of the 4 sinks. We also got docked for having something "on the floor" in the cooler, but IIRC it was something innocuous like the rack was touching the ground on one corner and food was on the rack where we just didn't notice the rack came off the slide.

Point being, some of those rules are enforced based off of what kind of day the health department employee is having. All the workers at that place were college kids on Adderall. It got cleaned non stop. It was freaking spotless.

The percentage doesn’t really tell you anything.

They can ding you for not having a pot stored upside down, hand wash sink water not hot enough, or paper towel dispenser being out of paper towels. Almost all “violations” are correctable on site.

In fact some inspectors I’ve spoken with have told me that they will continue to look over a place until they can find anything. They don’t give 100% because by reporting they found a minor violation it’s show s that they are doing their job.

You should have changed the grease in the fryer and fixed the ice cream machine before they got there....

This country is so arse backwards that the restaurants inspect the health department instead of vice versa?

Right depends what the findings were. Some are critical like cross contamination of raw and ready to eat, or something non critical like you mentioned.

Also, every inspector has his own interpretation of the rule, much like umps have their own strike zones.
