Liability
I do not own this breed. Do insurers refuse coverage or charge more if you own one? Much like a trampoline.

Looks like a fairly nice area. Sad their neighbors have to live next to trashy people

RIP pitbulls

nearly all will cancel risk if they know of breed being in home. very few will write the risk BUT they will exclude liability on animal. I don't know of any that willingly includes liability on those hazardous dogs.

It's comparable to gumps during football season.

You just never know when one might snap

I hope they weren't American staffordshire terriers.

That's terrible.

People who live near us had a pit bull that got out and attacked another neighbor's 7 year old. Destroyed his face, but fortunately he survived. I am a dog lover but I don't believe anyone should have this type of dog. They should be illegal.

While you're making rules and telling people what they should and should not own, is there anything else you would like to add to the list?

I think jesus should be illegal. Can you put that on your list for me?

Pit bulls should be like handguns. If they are not locked up and someone is killed, guess who they are coming after, the owner.

You're a fricking idiot if you think a 7 lb chihuahua can kill somebody

What about coconuts? Where do they fall into the equation? What if a swallow has a lot of pent up anger and he's flying with a coconut. He drops the coconut and kills an entire bus load of nuns. Who's liable? The owner of the coconut tree? The swallow? Or jesus?

I'm guessing you missed the sarcasm in that post. Pit bulls kill and maim more people than all other dogs combined and it's not even close...yet they're a much smaller percentage of the overall dog population.

Pitbull culcha?

Well at least it appears to be someone in the dog owner's family and not an innocent stranger walking down the street, so that's good.

so that's good.

I'm not sure it's "good"...the old lady is dead and her daughter gets to live with knowing her piece of shite dog killed her mom, and she will likely get charged with something.

Lady is just as dead as she would have been if it was a random pit bull.

That sounds fricking terrible.

Solid strawman attempt. But if I drop a coconut off a balcony on purpose and kill someone, I'm liable. If my pet accidentally knocks a potted plant off my balcony and kills someone, there's a chance I'm liable.

Did the owner know pit bulls can be dangerous? Yes. (Swallows - not dangerous, coconuts - not dangerous)
Did she knowingly purchase one? Yes. (People do knowingly purchase coconuts, so you've got one)
Was the pit bull trying to kill the lady? Yes. (I'm guessing most swallows dropping coconuts aren't aiming for people's heads).

Sounds like she's liable to me.

If someone is dead, I'm glad it was a member of the dog owner's family and not an innocent.

And it's not good.

But why are you telling me this, I don't own pit bulls.

There should be criminal charges anytime someone's dog kills a human being, I don't care what breed it is.

Just so happens that 80+% of the time, it's a pit bull.
