Since today marks the 38th Anniversary of my father shooting my karate instructor...I decided to share a link that I found out about a few month ago on YouTube.

Its 12 minutes long and starts with John Spain talking about his decision to air the footage and also what "not" to air.

A family friend taped the news that night on VHS so I have seen the original broadcast many times. Some of you watched it the night it happened and some of you have only seen the clip on YouTube or Tik Tok.

I know it has been talked about ad nauseum on Tigerdroppings but I think this is a little different.

Jay Young, John Mahaffey, and Ed Buggs on the call.

LINK

Oh yeah...check out this paragraph from my book:

we talked about you in my business law class at LSU. The lawyer/professor was a cool guy, we spent more time talking about what do if you win the lottery or when it is ok to shoot someone than actual business law.

The lawyer who thought the class said when finished up the section on you "i think Judy now post with us retards on tigerdroppings"

been trying to figure out what his user name was since then

Your dad deserves a statue in that airport. I've said it a million times and I'll say it a million more. Hopefully, we can get a givesendgo account for it one day, would love to see the justification in shutting it down.

The only thing I can think of that the city could come up with is not to encourage "vigilantism" but I don't think you could find anyone to make a public statement on camera stating that they wouldn't do the same in his own situation.

No...we had 4 schools in the year we took karate. Jeff would move in...NOT pay rent...get evicted...repeat!

The first school was in Mall City on Harry Drive. The 2nd one was on Tiger Bend across from Calloway. Then Industrialplex and finally Jeffrey Drive.

My cousin took from that one on Monterey and Choctaw I believe.

I watched the vid and immediately wondered if I went to the same place at the same time. Thank you for all your good work.

Me and most everyone I knew in Baton Rouge at the time thought (and still feel) what your dad did in dispatching Doucet was one of the most righteous crimes ever committed.
Do you think the fact that it was on TV helped your dad's case go lightly the way John Spain concluded?

Sorry you had to go through all that, so much to move on from.

The fact that you are still walking forward is a testament to you in your own right.

God bless your father. A real man who actually did what a ton of people would never have the courage to actually do in real life.
