Personally, I try to stick to nods. Nod up if you know them and down if you don't. Waving can get you into those kind of predicaments, but you can always play off a mis-nod

I coached my girlfriends flag football team my freshman year at Baylor and she was waving to me from the field when I was at my truck. Probably a solid 50 yards. Well I decided, since I'm a goofy as frick white guy, to just wave in the stupidest way possible.

Right when I did that RG3 and his gf walked right in between in our line of sight and he just gave me the biggest wtf glare of all time. I'm glad he sucks balls now.
