booking a beach vacation for the family. Portofino is getting too expensive. Looking elsewhere. Anyone has stayed at Waterscape? Looks nice

Went in October. Great for families. We were close enough to ft Walton and Destin. Would recommend.
Eta: we did vrbo. Picked out the one we liked. Got a two bedroom with two master baths. It had a luttle bunk area for the kiddos

overpriced ...
eta: I don't think everything is beach front ... we're staying not far down for a lot less. There is no lazy river or whatever but all we need is a pool and the beach .. kids are 21, 16, 13.

my kids are 7, 4 and newborn. So i kind of need some stuff to entertain them. That's why portofino is great, but to $$$ now.

We stayed there in 2011.Overall it was a good experience but seemed overpriced to me.It is family oriented if thats what you are looking for. When we went they had a movie night for kids by the pools. Not all rooms have a beach view if thats important to you.

Put it this way ... we booked a 3/2 at Gulf Dunes for $1750 total tax and everything.
Then we booked another vacation (may just be me and the daughter) for $1300 1/2 (1 bedroom but 2 bunks and a queen sleeper sofa if the others decide to come) ...
Booked both through VRBO.com. Waterscapes was $2000 min from what I remember.
eta: one week is in June, the other July.

I did not like because I had no beach view from my condo. Need to confirm your location beforehand. Location was great. Pools and lazy river were great for the kids.
Condo #'s close to 100 are closest to the beach (100 - 105 good; 115-120 no view from balcony)
