Just a sale link

Saw a 40 minute YouTube video where they highlighted making this watch. German watchmaker I’d not heard of. It scratches all my itches. Listed less on some sites but still talking big boy money.

The video was watch porn showing all the high end fabrication and assembly.

Just wondered if anyone else heard of them. Somebody is buying them.

GO is a legit manufacture. The watch you linked isn't my cup of tea, but the Senator collection has some very sexy watches: LINK /

GO is made in the Glashütte region of Germany which arguably has a better reputation the Swiss Made in general. As with most Glashütte brands GO gives very good value for money.

They are probably best known for their asymmetrical Panomatic line. I have one of their Sixties Iconic Collection variations that came out in 2013 and the quality is above what is expected at the price point. The SeaQ line IMO is great because it is one of the more interesting "new" takes on the dive watch. The grande date (they call it a panorama date) tends to be a love it or hate it complication, I personally like them but date complications are one of the most divisive visual aspects in all of watchdom.

Expect 10-15% off at a brick and mortar 20-30% off at online retailers like Jomashop.

There are a TON of options for dive watches in that price range.

As for the specific watch you linked note that green was the new black in 2021 and is less on trend now but most people buy a watch without being influenced by colorway trends but green isn't the most flexible watch color but again most people don't match their watch to their clothes and just buy a dial color they like. It has a solid in-house movement that has 100 hours of power reserve. It is a bit of a chunk at over 43mm and around 15.5 mm thick, if that is too much watch they have a non-panorama date SeaQ that is around 40mm diameter and 12mm thick (similar to a Submariner).

Beautiful, at a price!

Tourbillons are the only complication I suggest if someone is considering buying they first buy one of the sub $1k Chinese versions to see how quickly the novelty wears off. I wore a friend's a few days about 10 years ago and for me the interest waned significantly in the first few hours and was completely gone by the second day. I will admit I am not a fan of visual movements and while some people love open-worked watches or visible tourbillons they just read cheap to me. From any distance a tourbillon reads like any one of a million cheap open heart watches with a visual balance assembly. Everyone is different but it is why a suggest a cheap test drive.

GO makes a solid watch. The SeaQ is nice. My tastes on size skew towards the regular SeaQ, not the iteration that you linked with the Panorama Date. But if the size is to your taste, and you are looking for an off the beaten path diver, it is a good option.

I love how the Tourbillon is “understated” it’s an acccent as the face of the watch goes. That’s classy to me. They have the Skeleton model if that’s your thing and you want the watch to focus on the tourbillon.

I’d really like to own the 39.5mm Sea Q.

Very nice.

I’m stuck on a 40-42mm size though. Smaller would feel it to me. 1mm maybe not though

Was it the Teddy Baldassarre video? If not, that's a good one to watch.

And yes-GO is legit.

That peek-a-boo balance wheel is pretty interesting. I don't get out much, but I haven't seen that before.

I had to look that up, I thought it must be some obscure watch forum, in a way I guess I was right.

A tourbillon does contain the balance wheel but it is a lot more than that and is quite a little feat of engineering. It was designed to offset the effects of gravity but in wrist watches it is just a flex. With pcoket watches they spent most of their time in one position but a wrist watch is being moved all the time so it is less important if important at all. Up until maybe ten years ago it was a complication reserved for watches in the upper 5 figures an above. Now you can get a Swiss tourbillon under $20k and some Chinese versions for under $1k but you have to consider them disposable because even if someone can service them the cost of service would be more than the cost of a new one by a good bit.

Here is a gif of a tourbillon in action, as you can see the entire balance and escapement rotates once a minute (some rotate every 30 seconds).

There are some variations of tourbillons that are even more complex like the JLC Gyrotourbillon which rotates on two different axis simultaneously.

You can find lots of watches often called open hearts where you can see the standard balance assembly through the dial. These can be found under $500 easily from reputable manufacturers since they are nothing but a dressed hole in the dial to expose the balance and escapement. They don't have much visual appeal IMO since you see nothing but the blurred running of the balance wheel and it kinda obscures the escapement.
