There was an article on NOLA.com that offered few details and conflicting statements, as per usual for them.

For whatever it's worth, it said that two EMTs were treated for "non life threatening" injuries. Also said that the decedent's vehicle crossed over the median into the oncoming lanes.

IIRC, there is a narrow, but raised, median everywhere along Tulane except in the intersections.

Yes that is the latest update we have is that article update you posted. They called his momma today and said because of Fat Tuesday and ash Wednesday they can't see his body till 9 am on Thursday. His friends that was with him that night said he only had a couple of drinks and didnt seem drunk. the autopsy will show what was in his system and who knows if he was texting or what happened. The family is doing better but when they see his body Thursday that is when it is going to really hit them. Thank yall for the positive responses.

There is a lot of construction on Tulane right now, especially around the hospital. They are doing work to the neutral ground too, and there are cones and barrels and what not everywhere. I can see where it could get rocky or confusing for a driver

That is what his family thinks happen was with all the baricades and he got confused on where to go especially driving in downtown New Orleans by himself. It is what it is now and something you pray don't happen to nobody. I pray everybody be safe tonight and on there way back home.

You're a self-righteous, overly critical scumbag. The guy is trying to get pertinent information concerning the accident, and you feel like it's the perfect opportunity for you to start insinuating shite. Unbelievable!

I haven't been down there lately, but construction lane re-routes actually makes the article make a little more sense.

Hope your family gets some better information soon. Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, but it shouldn't be a city holiday.

Displaced may have jumped the gun here but the odds are in his favor as far as what happened. I obviously have no clue what happened but after reading this any betting man would give 10-1 odds that the kid was intoxicated and while it is a tragedy it's also good that nobody else lost their life yet.

It could be the office is off today or they just simply haven't done their test they may have planned, if they are working. Also, I know it sucks to hear this, but the body may not be in condition to view right now, or ever, really.

I had a half brother killed in a similar situation (his friend was driving, ran off road and into trees when he lost control bc of weather) and they didn't let any of the kids (I was 9 then) see the body at all bc they said he was in too bad of shape. Matter of fact, my dad was the only one who saw it and he will cry if he tries to talk about it still to this day and that was 20 years ago. Talk about depressing.

It was 2009. I was trying to connect the dots from the Facebook posts and this. We graduated together. Hell of a guy. Sorry about your loss.

His family is going down to New Orleans tomorrow to see his body and get his belongings. Also talk to the police about the accident. I was mistaken and it won't be until Thursday that they can bring his body back. All the answers that the family wants will be in the police report and if he was in the right or wrong they just want the truth. we all wish nobody was killed and injured.
