I've lost a lot of respect for Gordy since he took over at Guaranty. Radio is such a trashy business, I guess there's just no avoiding becoming trashy yourself.

Like listening to your hillbilly inlaws bitch at the Sunday dinner table.

Good riddance.

Hey, I'll give them credit. They ceased being funny at their original schtick years and years sgo and re-invented themselves in markets where it is popular to draw the Conservative talk radio crowd.

I can't tell you how many of my friends who are ditto-heads listen to them in the morning on the way to work.

I made my mind up about Obama years ago I personally didn't need their help, but human nature is such many of us need affirmation of our opinions on certain things and they provided that for many, even though for me the credibility of the source was dubious.

People say, "oh, it's just schtick," But I maintain it's the opposite. Guys like that are using the opportunity to indulge their inner a-hole when they wouldn't be able to get away with it IRL. A nice person can play a villain by speaking lines in front of a camera. When you talk extemporaneously for three or four hours a day five days a week, you're not playing a character. That's you.

Hey, I thought it was a joke that Condon hired Ponamski to make him a binder.

I really enjoy Jonjay and Rich out of Phoenix. They ruin people's lives with humpday dump day, war of the roses, etc.

Only that it will be "local" and start on the 9th..... hopefully it's not Condon.

I've heard that Condon's counterpart, Anna, will host the local talkshow.

Radio is a dying media anyway. Once self driving cars become the norm we'll just kick back and watch TV on our way to our destination

Say what you will about them, W&J are worlds better than that hack douchebag Joe Paggs.

Eta: damn I'm an idiot, Joe Pages is pretty good. It's Gerry V who is the astounding hack I was thinking of.

It's hard to fathom such an awful business decision being made. He's even worse than Gerry V.

I guess I have no reason to put it on 98.1 except during football season now.

Used to really enjoy the show.

It wasn't Obama that killed that show, though it was the final slide. It was when Walton's son died. His demeanor changed and he just became increasingly bitter, and bitter isn't funny.

W&J are a Baton Rouge institution. This has always been one of their strongest markets. I imagine 98.1 ratings are about to plummet other than for LSU sports.

His son had cancer, right? Been a while since I listened but I vaguely remember that.
