Wade Boggs finally went on the record to put the myths to sleep. The Hall of Fame third baseman all but confirmed what the rumors have speculated for a long time now, corroborating Charlie Day’s claim that he had thrown back 107 beers in a 24-hour period.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia had an episode from this past season titled "The Gang beat Boggs"- is about the gang's attempts to beat his record and it's hilarious.

In 1989 while living in LA I got the chance to hang out with a group of Red Sox players after the game. Boggs was there, and he was cool. Waitress would come over to the group, and he would go around asking if anyone needed a fresh drink. End of the night, he paid the check (I think the others made him pay cause he had the highest salary). Great night for a regular guy to hang with them.

I don't see how it's humanly conceivable for a person to consume that much alcohol, let alone, 35,000 feet in the sky.

over 24 hours, 107 beers would give you a BAC of 1.882%, slightly over the .08% limit for DUIs. He would have needed 130 hours to be back under the legal limit.
