ah, O.K.
that makes more sense

actually, I'm sad/proud to admit it, but there are a few aircraft that I have flown, the actual aircraft, that are in a couple of museums across the country

That's great.
When I was a young Marine in an HMLA, some of the maintainers claimed that a couple of the Hueys had flown in Vietnam.
I called bullshite and they quickly produced the records for the BUNO's (bureau numbers) in question.
I was awestruck.

When I went years ago, the hangar had the SR-71 blackbird in it... that alone is cool as hell. The sub was also cool to see how cramped it is inside. It was cool to see the ship and appreciate how huge it is but walking around on it was the least memorable part for me.

Thanks for the replies. We had some time to kill heading out to Destin on the 5th and stopped by to walk around in the park. My kids were wowed by the artillery aircraft and tanks. I was also able to explain to them what a "memorial" is and why it's there.

We also visited the Eglin Armory Museum one day Ft Walton. I recommend it for those in the area on vacation as a way to spend a little time seeing something other than beaches.

My aunt and uncle took me when I was about 9 or 10. It was awesome. The immensity of it, the history. Great trip.
