Remember this story.
Van der Sloot remains the chief suspect in the unsolved 2005 disappearance in his native Aruba of U.S. teen Natalee Holloway.
He is serving a 28-year sentence for killing a 21-year-old female Peruvian student he met in a Lima casino.

That Peruvian prison he's in is routinely rated as one of the world's worst. The guards don't go inside, the prisoners regulate themselves and make the rules. Some people purposely get AIDS because the alternative of constant gang rape would be worse.
Inmates are routinely murdered without consequences given to the assailants.
Saw a documentary on it and it freaked me the frick out. That dude is not some happy father/husband living the life in Peru.
Oh and he 100% killed Holloway. He's a sociopath and admitted doing it to a wired undercover guy the family hired to get close to him.

I was just in Aruba last week and kept mentioning his name to workers at our resort...it reminded me of the shame the Germans have when they hear the mention of Hitler

I think you may be thinking about the San Pedro prison in Bolivia (La Paz). I could be wrong but I saw that documentary as well, and I thought it was in Bolivia.
