LOL - yal bitch about the union cause your on strike without pay and benefits and from reading most of the threads yal thought it would last a week or so, but if the union succeeds you will be back working and paying dues and praising USW for what they have got you - than in 3yrs when the contract runs out you will be on here bitching about USW again.

You do realize that union members and non-union members are forced to walk out (by the company), right? At least that's how it is at my site. You think it's fair for non-union members to not be paid and to not have insurance?

Aren't they meeting on Wed.? How would anything get done by Wednesday? I'm giving them until the end of the week (2 full weeks) and then I'm going back Monday, the 9th.

It's not just that non union members were locked out its what the union is pushing for that is causing the strike. I have nothing to thank usw for I can represent myself just fine. If they were gone.

Now that any monetary gains over the next three years are lost...we can start calculating the net loss for this decision to strike against a good paying job. Calculations do not include any money received by employee form union (those rainy day dues ) Let me know if my assumptions are off....

The weekly wage lost is off at a $35 rate. At least for operations. Not sure how they got that number if it is strictly wages.

What is a good number for an average hourly wage rate and average hours worked per week in the plant?

Pay rate I don't know average. However, the common is 7 of 14 days. 5/2 or 4/3.

Maybe they are factoring in two days of overtime on their 60hrs.

I'm just tired of being fed lies and the union using bullying and scare tactics. They need to get us back to work. Last Thursday evening certain people were brothers and sisters, then Friday morning those same people are on a poster board being called scabs and rats and cockroaches. That is chicken shite. Those union fricks are the lowest forms of life on earth. It's slander, intimidation, scare tactics, and defamation of character that no one should put up with.

The sack of shite usw is using Norco and convent employees as pawns to get maintenance jobs in port Arthur. I wish they would decertify those assholes.

Then come join us and tell them how you feel. Worst that will happen is they will add your name to the list on their wall.
