It's not looking to promising. People need to do a life check an see what's really important. Is being part is the USW important or supporting your family/yourself more important. I also don't think this is will be over soon. I believe Shell is about fed up with the USW's shite.

I think this is a no brainer, for me at least. What concerns me is the reputation/stigma that could follow one around for the rest of their career, should they cross. It's a really shitty situation.

Their is proper and legal way to do it. Do your research and it tells you. Follow the proper channels and you can wash your hands of the Union. Don't worry about others....always CYA.

This strike looks super weak. The union should call out more sites.

Why can't Shell just not renew their contract with USW? Or is that how it works?
The USW seems to be trying to get way too much.

ETA: What is making Shell stick with the Union?

I don't know if shell is sticking with union as much as sticking it to the Union.

An extension wouldn't be a defeat for the workers, but it would be for the union agenda.

Of course the union agenda is a lont shot anyway. USW better hope for a big signing bonus to quell its ranks.

Is it true that the people on strike loose health insurance at midnight tomorrow?

If that is the end of the month, yes.

The other facilities on strike have been without it since Jan 31.

Yep. USW is offering "Emergency" insurance, which doesn't cover doctor visits, prescriptions, etc...

I bet doctor offices are packed today! At least the medical industry is making some money!
