Our house was under construction/renovation. No location to deliver mail so carrier held at Post Office. Had hold removed by telling carrier and releasing the hold online.

Have spoken with the station manager yet they are still holding our mail. Tomorrow will now be the 5th time I've made a trip to the post office in the last 3 weeks to tell them to stop...inevitably they tell me there isn't a hold, or their aren't any packages there. Which isn't true. After 20-30 minutes of waiting, the counter employee will come out with our mail and packages.

It's getting rather annoying to say the least. And I'm not sure what else to do since it seems like the people that should know the hold has been released.

If you're going to the post office downtown, they suck, horribly. Don't expect anything to be done permanently. There is no communication there. Our company's Mail got sent to someone else so often he got a return to sender stamp because he was tired of writing it. This has been going on for years. They're useless.

Audubon Station.

Wife went today and there's a package there (indicated by tracking) but the counter says no, and that there's no mail being held.

We had the opposite problem. We requested a 2 week vacation hold both online and by note to the carrier. They did not hold our mail. They just kept stuffing it in the mailbox until it was so full the mailbox door wouldn't shut. At that point a neighbor noticed it and took in our mail for the rest of our vacation. We were just lucky it was a trusted neighbor who saw it. We called the post office when we got home and got the run around. Now when we put a hold on the mail we always have someone check to be sure it is really held.

And don't even try to do a change of address. Your mail will continue to go to the old box/route, even if you request it be forwarded online and twice at the PO window.

OP, you might have to go postal on 'em.
