WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Army's top general says military forces on the ground face a high level of risk if the United States gets into a large-scale conflict against a power such as Russia or China.

Testifying Wednesday on Capitol Hill, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley says years of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, constrained budgets and troop cuts have had a cumulative effect on the service.

Go Air Force, they're looking for drone pilots... What's better than killing 500 terrorists during an 8hr shift from some trailer in Nevada then going home to Mary J Rottencrotch each night?

I think you're misunderstanding the risk he's talking about.

And the sun is going to come up in the morning. I don't know what the assessment would have been before Clinton gutted the military to balance the budget but it has been that way ever since then. You can't have it both ways.
