Piece of Shite
Some patients/victims didn't even have cancer.

On Monday, July 6, many innocent victims will finally have the opportunity to voice their displeasure of the infamous Michigan cancer doctor who made headlines for his unthinkably deceitful practices. As previously reported on the Inquisitr, Dr. Farid Fata admitted to giving hundreds of patients chemotherapy as part of a healthcare fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy scheme. He also stated that he was well aware that the cancer treatments were “unnecessary” and “excessive".

According to WXYZ, several victims are looking forward to giving their victim impact statements. One woman in particular named Geraldine Parkin recently spoke with the news publication about how she’s anticipating looking Dr. Fata in the eye and vocalizing her disdain. Fata allegedly gave Parkin’s husband excessive chemotherapy treatments for lymphoma. “I want to be strong and look him in the eye, like he looked us in the eye and lied – except mine won’t be a lie,” Parkin said. “Right now he doesn’t have an immune system, he gets sick all the time. He has a lot of bone pain. He’s depressed,” she said.
quote:HOLY CRAP!!
The treatments for the staggering number of patients totaled more than 9,000 injections and infusions that costed patients and health care providers millions, according to the federal investigative report. From 2007 to 2013, Fata’s oncology practice billed more than $225 million to Medicare for treatments, reports Click 2 Detroit. Many victimized patients and their family members are still unclear about whether any of Fata’s cancer claims were even true.

And on Friday, nearly two years after his arrest, Dr. Farid Fata was sentenced to 45 years in federal prison for violating more than 550 patients' trust and raking in more than $17 million from fraudulent billings.

You know you are fricked when you get that much money and the best your lawyers can give you is an argument for 25 years.

Man, how do you even sentence a douchcicle like that? I mean, it's got to be life right? Wtf?
I need to read up on this. Do we know the sentencing range?
Eta: sorry, I saw the post above listed 25 years and a re-read the article and it's gonna be 25 to life.
I guarantee the judge is going with life. He at least admitted it but it's not going to help. We should follow this and see what the sentence ends up as.

You would think this sort of thing has to be a rare and isolated case, but a similar thing happened to my aunt. She underwent a full course of chemotherapy for lung cancer, and was declared in full remission. For some reason she later went to a different oncologist for follow up, and he was puzzled by some of the things in her records. He got her original pathology reports and informed her that the biopsies were actually benign, she never had cancer. She went to a malpractice attorney, but I never heard what the outcome was.

Dave Kroff was also put through years of unnecessary chemotherapy by Fata. Kroff says that the chemo suppressed his immune system so badly that he lost both of his legs.

Make him take an overdose of chemo.
Or expose him to other radiations and if he develops cancer, he has to wing it with no meds.

Speaking as someone who had actual cancer and 6 months of chemo, which sucked motherfricking balls, life in prison isn't an adequate punishment for that piece of shite.

He should be out through chemo with no meds to help for pain and discomfort. It's the only thing fit for him.

Guarantee this is not the only doctor doing this. Cancer is very big $$.

There aren't enough patients with REAL cancer out there? I guess this guy forgot about that "First, Do No Harm" thing.
