While trying to protect his wife and two young children, the northwest Atlanta father was shot in both legs Sunday evening, the beginning of a few terrifying moments for the family. As Lash was recovering Tuesday, Atlanta police were investigating the home invasion, hopeful that security cameras on neighboring homes and evidence left behind would help identify the suspects.

Hopefully the security cameras will give us a good picture of what these boys look like. I'm thinking if we can narrow it down to a list of suspects that's at the most 12% of the overall population, we have a good chance of catching them before they head off to college.

That'd pretty much shatter any sense of security I would have for the rest of my life.

In all seriousness, it's an obvious way to identify suspects. You have the entire city of Atlanta to consider and you want to narrow it down to a list as small as possible.
We know they're teenagers, have afros, have tattoos, and have piercings. That's a good amount of info, but knowing if they are black or white or hispanic or Asian helps even further. But instead of identifying their race, we just ignore it because of sensitivity.

Father in law has a gun in every room of his house and won't answer the door for strangers without one on his person. This makes me think I'm going to pickup that practice.

i wonder how long it took the police to show up. it sounds like the wife called 911 before her husband was shot but the article says they still had time to ransack the house.

I wish the father would've taken out a pistol and blew their brains out right there at the front door and the video was caught on surveillance and mass broadcasted on the news.
