Sounds like Alvin Greene in 2010.
Pretty much the same story, except he won the Democrat primary in the US Senate race vs. Jim DeMint. The Democratic Party refused to support him.
The filing fee was something like $10,000, so people were wondering if the Republicans paid his fee and planted him in the race.

I think many Republican voters in MS voted in the Democratic primaries because of all the local elections were (D). I think many just picked Gray because his name was the first on the ballot or he was the only male. Although I will say, Vicki Slater didn't really run that great of a campaign.

Yes Pectus. In Mississippi we float, and when you come for a visit...you will float too.

This is exactly why he got my vote, I'm republican and voted in the dem primary for the local positions. He had a common name, so I chose him.

First name of the ballot. Easy as that

Why would republicans need to rig the Mississippi governors election?

Why did Nixon feel the need to do what he did in Watergate?

Bryant wins this by 20-25 points if we was running against Jesus.

the Mississippi DEM party is just horrible. They can't fundraise, they can't get their message out.
I think it's more like their message isn't what the people want.

@RobertGrayDEM: I am NOT a plant. I ran a good campaign based on the issues. Granted I don't know what those issues are
@RobertGrayDEM: To answer the people who ask #whoisrobertgray If i wanted you to know I would actually have gone out and campaigned #mselex @a__gibson
@RobertGrayDEM: Dear @MarshallRamsey, you ask that campaigns go clean up their signs now. I hope others follow my example as I am already done. #mselex
Must be parody but still
