Doesn't Uber have a policy that once you order a car, if you cancel it, you'll be on the hook for a charge?

Why wouldn't you do that if you were Lyft? It just seems like a common sense policy that wouldn't offend anyone. In the app, very clearly state, "If you continue requesting this vehicle by selecting request my car, you will be charged a $10 fee if you choose to cancel your ride between the time of your order and pick up."

Lyft, at least in Atlanta, has a far different feel and appearance. The drivers are far less professional in appearance, and the cars are in far worse shape. Admittedly adding that dumb pink mustache doesn't help.

No, not that I'm aware of. I've canceled a few times when it became clear the driver wasn't going to be here anytime soon.

As far as I know the only thing that happens is the driver can rate you lower, but it hasn't messed with my rating, probably because the driver didn't want to get me anyway.

Here's what I know about Uber:

-I've used it probably between 30-50 times
-It is very convenient and easy to use
-It's hella cheap
-Every driver I've had has been cordial and with a vehicle that isn't disgusting

That's all I really care about as the consumer. I couldn't care less what pranks they play on other companies as long as they get me where I wanna go for dirt cheap.

You can try it for free whenever you want. Download the app, launch it, hit the promotions tab and then enter 806c9 and you get a free ride up to $30. This is only for people that haven't used it yet.

No as long as you cancel before the car arrives you are not charged

Über stops this by only allowing one account per phone number

I canceled like 10 ubers this weekend. The stupid app needs a feature that asks how many people are in your party. I would make a request, see the car isn't big enough, then cancel. Rinse and repeat until I said frick it and called a cab.

That's turrble. I'd probably rather take a ride in a Yellow Cab than in something so stupid-looking.

my app says max of 4 per car. so if you have 4 you are good. if you have more than 4 more than 1 person probably needs to request a car. what am i missing?

There are vehicles specialized for the number of people in your party. Select those.

Those vehicles are only in certain cities though.

That's on you. If you're traveling with more than 4 people, you should realize that you can't fit in a normal car, which is what the typical Uber transportation is. if you've got like 6 or 7 people, obviously you need an SUV, which is an option you can select. There's an uber X option for smaller cars and then another option (name escapes me) for SUVs.
