I find Uber more convenient, but not cheaper than cabs in cities I've used it...DC, Chicago, NYC, Atlanta...

Number of drivers will explode in the next 2 months. I promise. When demand is higher than supply, Uber busts their arse to make sure more drivers sign up.

I wish the app would show you how many cars are currently running. I've seen 1 available in an hour. Seem like there should be more on a Saturday evening. I'm watching it continuously so I don't think others are being taken.

Anyone have any recent luck with uber? Would like to use them tonight, but there's nothing available. Hasn't been anything available all day.

Have some patience dude. Most of the current drivers have day jobs. If you want to use them tonight try paging them tonight.

How can you see how many cars are available on the app? I tried playing with it and ended up scheduling a ride when I didn't want it.

Give it some time. When some of yall try it out in Houston for Wisconsin game, you will see how great it can be.
I used it for 3 rides Friday night. Never waiting more than 5 minutes to arrive. Not 1 fare was over $10 and I was driven all over rice village and midtown.
