I was nodding off around 2 yesterday and I was watching my son. He's 4 but really aware of things so I doubt he will get into trouble or get hurt. I almost fell asleep but I freaked out, jumped up and put the coffee on.

I'm a twin, and when we were 3 we got into all kinds of stuff. I remember we built these elaborate ladders (for 3 year olds) out of our little table, chairs, and books to get to the crisco, peanut butter, and corn flakes and smeared it everywhere in the kitchen while our mom was in the other room talking on the phone.

Another time we got a can of blue spray paint from the garage and painted each other. We thought we were smurfs. Spray painted everything but our dads brand new truck.

We got into some stuff, but I don't understand how this happened.

About 2-3 years ago there was a kid that walked out of the house. It was in the Houston area. Mom nodded off and kid woke up. Left the house and fell in a nearby pond. My son was about the same age. From that point if I was gonna fall asleep I put him on my chest on the recliner.

I certainly agree that some things don't add up. But what you told about growing up a twin is exactly what I was referring to with raising twins.

This should be a crime with serious punishment. No excuse, period. This is negligence that led to two toddlers baking/suffocating to death.

There's a reason we keep our vehicles locked especially the ones outside the garage, doesn't matter what age if they get into a vehicle and can't get out in this heat it will happen quick.

This shite happens far too often to keep letting these sorry motherfrickers walk. Negligent homicide of a child is inexcusable in my book. frick excuses, frick busy parents, frick all of that shite. And to you other sorry shits who dont care for you children like you should. I hope you're kids throw your asses in a home so you can be beat, cheated and made to wear your soiled diapers and get chronic bed sores.

This one is straight up murder. The dumb Bossier City mom probably heard about the recent string of these incidents and thought she could set up this story.

My wife and I were very conscientious parents of four children who are all adults now. Nothing like this ever happened, but I can see how it could. I especially understand how it could happen that a parent could go to work, skip the daycare, and leave his kid in the back seat. It would be a horrible mistake and an awful thing to live with. I don't see what incarceration accomplishes. It wouldn't prevent future occurences, and it wouldn't serve as revenge.

I can't argue your statement much. But this country is so fricked backwards that children are placed in foster care for way less than this. Im speaking really technical on this because I zero tolerance on anything that has a negative impact on a child. I almost pulled my pisol on an older woman and her folks last month for whipping on a mentally retarded kid in her own yard! I do not frick around when it comes to children. It's funny how we are all up on the future of this and that but our children are neglected, used, abused and mistreated to no end. Especially in La! Why didnt the child porn bust from last week make it to the national spotlight with the irrelevant shite like bogus surveys and other stuff. Why isn't anyone concerned about the full blown predator society in California? Motherfrickers would notice $0.38 missing from the bank acount but are sorry as hell with child responsibilities and morals. Take care of the youngins....they didnt ask to be here so the deserve nothing but love and care. Besides, our asses are going to get old and dependent at some point. Who's gonna take care of us? The ones that die young or is it gonna be some fool with childhood issues?! No thanks. Rant over!

They didn't get in that truck on their own. I have twin 3 1/2 year old grandsons that are very tall and there is no way they could get in my truck that is almost identical to that one.

My son is 3 1/2. I can't fathom how something like this would occur.

I have seen so many parents allow kids to play in their vehicles as if it is a toy. They learn it is OK to get into the vehicle. One of my main rules for mine was never go into a vehicle....and they never did. Now they are old enough to drive.
