Interesting, since you've never been affected by slavery. Must be nice to sit back in privilege and criticize.

Pretty sure they were protesting on their off time. But since we're talking about wastes of tax dollars.....how much taxpayer money do you think is going to be wasted on the AS protests this week from paying all the police overtime and repairing all the damages the protesters cause?

Well if they are in fact a welfare recpient they should be pursuing employment, better employment opportunities or caring for their children. Anything other than that would be wasting our tax dollars.

Im hoping for no damages and riots. That's not productive. And I don't consider this civic tradition a waste....it's as American as 1776. Protesting is in our flags fabric. 1st amendment.

Also, LEOs "protect and serve"so whatever orders they get, should they not follow? The people don't work for them, they work for US.

wasn't that an official "no confidence" vote from the NOFD Union?

Yeah that's smart...just to appease those that rather do wrong to piss the majority of the city other than do the right thing.

There is no good moral argument to keep those statues up. Not one single one. Sorry, progress usually hits the south decades after everyone else gets up to speed, but they should be glad they are getting up to speed.

They better get to work the minute after jazz fest is over. These tax dollars don't go to them just to sit on their asses

We all know how you really feel about tax dollars going to people who just sit on their asses.

I wish they would ban you again.

I don't understand how the hell chicken let a race baiting troll like you back on this site. That has been his biggest mistake yet that he has made with the reinstatements on here.

It's not like you even come up with a good counter argument that could be considered a worthy opposing viewpoint. You just say stupid shite trying to get people to respond with stupid shite so you can argue with them or get them banned.

You're truly scum of the earth.

Actually they do. Firefighters are paid to be waiting and ready to respond at a moments notice. They're paid to respond to medical and fire related emergencies. They save lives. They are not paid or trained to do anything that doesn't involve saving lives or resolving emergencies or preparing for those incidents

The moral argument about the statues doesn't apply to this protest. This protest is about the improper use of city employees to do a task they are untrained for, simply because they can be ordered to do things by the mayor. Firefighters should only be responding to emergencies, not used in the political dick sucking that Mitch is doing by taking down the statues. The statues are not a fire or health related emergency, therefore the city should not be able to force firefighters to take down the statues. It's an abuse of power that should not go unpunished

Race baiting troll...who started this thread? How am I a troll...just because I don't believe what you believe? Can I not have an opinion different than the tribes?

I don't think anything I said was stupid. I don't get why they aren't being more obedient. There issues about their work reviews and other work related tasks were legit. I'm glad they are raising public concern for those issues. I 100% disagree with their "grievances" about the statute though.

They just don't want to bear the social responsibility of it. Which to me is rather weak and small... and I don't want weakness from
The public utility I pay for.

Then rest your case on that stipulation. Someone's fiancé came out and said "it's divisive" which implies one of the firefighters rather see those deplorable statues remain there.

If their issue strictly pertains to their work requirements -- fine. The minute THEY start infecting politics into it...is the minute I stop believing them.

And I don't believe them

Wow. Letting a little of your white superiority peek through? Gotta keep them down on the farm, don't you.

You're a troll because you don't care about the safety of those firefighters being asked to do things they were not trained to do. Do you even OSHA bruh?
