Neither have I. Maybe it’s a village vs a town.

Used ride dirt bikes in Turkey Creek in my youth. That area had some of the most challenging and grueling trails. However my father always refused to camp over night when we rode the trails, which was weird because we did so everywhere we rode; forest hills, sand dunes, etc. Never made sense till we ran into some locals in the middle of the woods. Don’t really remember the specifics bc I was around 10-11 years old but things went sideways very quickly. My old man ended up pulling his 357 and demanded I take off in order to load my bike onto the trailer.
My dad’s only explanation was that we had encountered the LA version of deliverance hillbilly folks.

Turkey Creek? I would barely call that a village.

Lake Providence is the worst city/town/municipality/village I've been to. It's in the middle of nowhere, too.

That’s a bizarre list. Lexington isn’t anywhere close to worst in Kentucky.

They got Wyoming’s right.
The wind doesn’t blow all the time in Rock Springs, it sucks.

If you think Turkey Creek is backwoods, go a little further down 167 to Clearwater. Even locals didn't go down there. They used to breed these wolf / German shepherd hybrids that looked like dire wolves. No clue how they got the wolves. Meanest but coolest looking dogs I'd ever seen.

Lake Cove must not have been considered.

I've never even heard of Turkey Creek. It looks like it has 440 people. That's not even big enough to be considered a town imo. We have more people than that in our neighborhood.
It probably has about 1K people in the village and the surrounding countryside. Just a bunch of simple rednecks that want to be left alone.
The much more interesting place would be Lake Cove which is northwest of Turkey Creek. A collection of about 20 homes out in the middle of nowhere. NOT the place you'd want to drive up to in the middle of the night. It's my understanding that the sheriff's deputies won't or at least don't care, to go back there.
Back in around 2010 I worked with a lady from Turkey Creek. Again, just a simple redneck. She told me a story about a newly married couple from Lake Cove. The wife , at age 16, was brought to Arkansas to a family reunion to find her husband. which she did. Not long after the wedding the wife gets pregnant. She was the first person in her family to receive formal pre-natal care and deliver the baby inside of a hospital. It was a big deal for them!! LOL
