I think it's mostly that it's such a typical OT comment.

My buddy, my age (41), was VP of Credit Suisse in NYC and an absolute wall street badass by the time he was 35. Got a buyout during the crash and moved back to Portland and is starting up an acquisition firm called Red Hills Holdings. He had 5th floor penthouse in Hells Kitchen.

Not everybody here walks the same stereotypical baw path.

He was a VP. There is one than one VP of course. Why are you so engaged in something I have no reason to falsify? I have never owned anything in NYC. I'm not claiming to. But a friend of mine was very successful there at a very young age, made an exorbitant amount of money at Credit Suisse, bought a penthouse in hells kitchen, and let me crash there when I visited.

You're mindset is a very Louisiana thing. It's cultural.

I see you are in NYC. How's Spanish Harlem treating you?

Holy shite!!! Are you fricking serious?? You're friend sounds like a fricking bad arse. Crushing it on Wall Street by 35?!! Got a wicked buyout before the crash before the suckers lost everything and made bank? frick yeah. Tucked tail and moved to Portland to start an insignificant fund? frick yeah, that's my friend. Dude makes Hell's Kitchen his bitch. That's MY FRIEND! Fart.

After crash. They were trimming fat and he was burnt out. Moved back to Oregon, grew his hair out, bought a jeep and partied for a few years. Now he's got this acquisition startup with his brother.

My buddy paid just over 2M for his penthouse in Hells Kitchen in 2007, which is as nice and bigger than this unit.
So, you are saying your buddy got a 4,000 sq ft penthouse, with a 1000 sqft private balcony, for around $500 a square foot in Hells Kitchen in 2007?

I have a very very very very hard time believing that.

Good for Trevor. He's not nearly as good as Jon but he seems like a decent enough guy.

ETA: apparently the OT doesn't think Trevor is a decent guy

I thought his acts were good when he did stand up however once the election coverage started he went downhill in my opinion. Not bc of who he wanted but he just wasnt funny anymore.

I read his book. Dude came from the absolute bottom in South Africa, raised by single mother, now lives in a $10 million penthouse in New York. That's an American Dream story right there, based on pure talent.

I didn't think anyone could replace Jon Stewart, but he does a great job.

Yeah I misread that, his place was around 1500ft2. Thought dude paid 10M for 1000ft2 living.
