Toughest decision you've ever made

What's the toughest decision you've ever had to make? Breakup? Divorce? Changing careers?

For me it was putting my dog down. I had him all through my coming of age years and he was a good, loyal pup.

Divorcing my wife. BY FAR.

That was agony. Hurt worse than any physical pain I have ever felt.

Yes. I decided to leave her. Agonized over it for months and planned it for months so I didn't leave her in a bad financial position.

10yrs. She had health issues that were easily manageable and she flat refused to take care of herself or even take meds she was supposed to take. She basically committed passive suicide and I refused to wait around for her to die.

Then I realized I had done everything I could possibly do and there was no changing her. I also realized that since I couldn't save her it was time to save myself.

She died a few years later. Didn't even make it to 50.
