If kids and a wife are joy then I'll kill myself now.

I'm 23. One night a week is enough for me. I'm also good with no nights a week if there's something else to do.

don't project your lameness on "growing up."

There are a lot of older people who still go out and drink.

There's a difference between going out to drink and partying in my mind. I'm almost always down for some drinking. Rarely in the mood to party like I did 5 or 10 years ago.

There's a difference between drinking and partying. Partying generally involves drinking with the stated goal of getting drunk.

His post is well said

Paying for shitty over priced drinks with terrible music blaring is a losing proposition when you have a SO and aren't looking to black out

I got tired of it at 23. I used to be a bouncer for my friend and that shite got old fast. Every weekend, drunks screaming and yelling while smelling like sweat and vomit, I was done after a few months.

Its not a case of "you are tired of partying". That's the part that sucks. Your body hits a point to where you can't recover like you used to. Sure, some people get tired of night life and chasing skirt etc... but, even they wan't to be able to party sometimes. So then it becomes a game of is it worth it. To feel awful for a day so you can experience the good times. Its tougher for some people. Easier for others. Everyone's body is different. Usually people start to experience longer after effects at 35.

Exactly, I have better music, better booze, and my own woman at home. My friends get together to goof off, play music, and have a few drinks all the time. We don't need to go out to Club 1913 or Reggie's to get blitzed on jagerbombs to have fun and get laid.

When it comes down to it there have been very few times over the past year and a half or so when I've gone out to really drink or what not and thought the next day that it was all worth it

Besides going to a concert, who goes to a bar to listen to music or at least cant find a place that the music is at least acceptable?

The better booze comment is stupid. Cheaper booze, ok.

Who the hell says this? Being down with going out and partying doesnt equate to 1913 and Reggies.

This is an interesting topic I have recently discussed with my friends. It's a unique dynamic because I don't know many people who are still close to their 10 or so group of core friends as us. We are all 25-26. Some married, some with kids, and some with more professional jobs than others. The ones with kids and wives hang out together and maybe sneak away one once a month. The ones with wives sneak away 2-3 times a month. And the ones with neither do the same shite they were doing 3 years ago. We all get together on occasion and blow it out, but it's been funny to see the dynamics change based on circumstance.
