I'll keep it short for the tl;dr crowd:
My 10 year old son recently got a new Kindle along with a starter $25 Amazon digital gift card. He's a big fan of a game called "Clash of Kings", so he used it to upgrade his castle, etc. To use his gift card while playing his game, my wife activated the "one-touch purchase", meaning to change the feature.
Well, she forget to switch the account back. My son went hog-fricking-wild. In three days, he ran up over $3800 from my checking account in "in game purchases" before I found out this morning. I almost had a heart attack. Yep. $3800. On a game.
After realizing it wasn't a hack or identity theft, we called Amazon. Despite signing an electronic agreement policy twice that "there is no refund on digital content", Amazon deposited every single penny back into my checking account within the hour. No hassle, no "sir, you need to speak with a manager", no games. At the end of the call they gently reminded me of their policy but stated that they'd give us a pass this time. How great is this company?
Amazon is amazing. My son is a dead man.

1) He lost all digit access to any media device.
2) His bottom got torched hibachi style.
3) He had to beg for financial leniency at the end of the Amazon phone call as well s thank them for their kindness when they cut us the break.
4) Still open to more options.

The pay to play culture in gaming has gotten out of hand. Most mobile games seem fun at first until you realize you're progress will slow to a snail's pace unless you start buying extra points for upgrades.

They genuinely are one of the better customer service companies out there. Had about $100 worth of stuff stolen off my front porch (delivered the first day when I was out of town for four days) and they sent me a replacement within two days.
ETA: At no cost and no questions asked.

You're pretty lenient. I once got in a wreck, one week after my dad bought me a truck for my sixteenth birthday, and he paid to fix the truck, then craned it into the air with a sign saying my son is a terrible driver and doesn't need this. For Sale.
I was a much better driver after that.

Is your name Jack Black? Starts at 2:18
They should make it harder for kids to do that. Talk about a flaw in the system.

Why? It's your wife's fault.
