My tablet with 4g service and Google Maps is the best GPS I have ever used. I have a mount for it in my truck just like a GPS.
Interestingly enough, I had never thought about how much your tablet could be useful until I went to India with mine. I just didn't think about GPS still working without WIFI or G signals and being in a foreign country. I'm well aware of how GPS works, I just didn't think my device would still be able to use it.
I could look at it wherever I was and know where to turn etc. I didn't have "navigation," but it was pretty nice to have just to use it as a map.

Profesional here. Pizza boy. Google maps is the way to go on smart phone. Unless you need multiple points routed and calculated, this is all you need. Traffic is legit, property delineation and routes are accurate. Street view for a heads up what area looks like is extra bonus.

I have an older Tom-Tom and it sucks. I can't count the # of times it's let me down a road in the MS Delta that ended at a gate, water, or the prison.

I don't have my tablet bolted in my car or anything, but I take my Nexus 10 on the road with me to show me where to go, and I have an app that keeps track of the routes I take. That makes it easier to record the mileage on my expense report.

Yeah, ever since i've upgraded phone, I pretty much use Google Maps for my directions/navigation. The only thing I can't do is getting rid of my base location (home) everytime I have a search.

Maybe you should try a penis or your cell phone.
