I just want to say a sincere thank you for all you did/do for me and my brothers in arms down on terra firma.
To the BUFF and other bomber crews and pilots thank you for prepping the battlefield taking out the serious enemy assets and making the landscape safer.
To the transport pilots and crews thank you for the safe rides.
To the fast movers, thanks for ensuring the skies were something I never had to worry about. Complete air superiority was like a nice warm blanket.
To the A-10 Hog pilots. What can I say there is nothing I would rather have on station when outgunned and outmanned than a couple of Wart Hogs. I will never forget the sound and feel of an A-10 coming in low enough to seemingly reach up and touch while tossing rockets with a steady stream of 30mm rounds from that glorious cannon.
Last but not least a big shoutout and thanks to the magnificent rotor head bastards of the Air Cav. Yes, you look goofy as frick with your spurs, Stetsons and almost porn staches but like a big brother if you weren't already there you would be coming buster as soon as you could. Thanks to the Chinooks and Black Hawks for the safe (and fun) rides and especially the medivacs that saved some of my friends. Thanks to the Apaches (and Cobras, I am old) for those bursts of 30mm and the rockets. A special bow down to the front seaters that could inexplicably knock a fly off a camels arse with those rockets.
If I forgot anyone I apologize so to all of the crews and pilots I can't imagine being on the ground without you up above.
The only time I ever was truly pissed at you is when you said "Winchester".

Seriously? I have great respect and appreciation for everyone in the military we all play a part in mission success. I normally only consciously think about military service a couple of times a year and this weekend I was thinking about something specific that made me want to thank the aviators specifically.
That said thank you for all the logistic support you provide, without it the whole machine would grind to a stop.
