390 people per year on average died from acts of terror in the US from 1985-2013.

In 2014, 4,884 pedestrians and 726 bicyclists were killed in crashes with motor vehicles (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Traffic Safety Facts). Here are more facts and figues on pedestrian and bicycle crashes:

As a competitive, 726 bicyclists died in 2014, and I'd be willing to bet more than 390 people on average over the last 29 years died in bicycle accidents.

Why is no one clamoring for more bicycle regulations?

This isn't about guns. It seems like after every terrorist attack, the general public is ok with accepting more intervention from law enforcement in their personal lives.

This is no different.

So, you are saying that folks are overreacting and maybe a little hysterical over this?

You're saying that this stuff is not completely outside of the realm of daily life under a Democrat Administration, right?

Is this, in your opinion, The New Normal unless we can get a handle on Climate Change, sensible gun control and a guaranteed personal income?

Pedestrians and bicycles don't belong on roads where cars drive at high speeds. Problem solved.

So, you're saying we should ban bicycles or ban people that accidentally kill bicyclists? I'm asking because the incident in Florida wasn't an accident.

Oh go frick yourself. Terror attacks are extremely significant. Certainly more significant than a fricking car accident. I know each human loss of life is equal but from a nationalistic perspective, terror attacks are attacks on our freedoms.

If you don't see it that way then no amount of comments can fix your stupidity.

Many people are advocating for more vehicular regulations in the form of lower speed limits and more grade separated bike paths which usually means taking a traffic lane for the path.

Many more vehicle users die from vehicle crashes per year than bicyclists. And many regulations exist for vehicles that have lowered the death rate....i.e. seat belt laws. But most people see vehicles as a necessity in the modern world and see the overall benefit as worth the death risk.

Assault weapons are not a necessity for the average person that vehicles are.
