Tipping culture and service workers entitlement

Went to dinner tonight. The bill was $58. Put $100 bill in folder. Waitress never came back. I sought her out and asked about my change. She said she assumed it was a tip because I didn’t pay with smaller bills. WTF

This is one of my biggest pet peeves and I don't give a damn if it comes across as complaining.
A few months ago I walked in and gave the hostess a 20 dollar bill for a 12 dollar to-go order. She said "do you need change." It's like some of these hoes really do think that they're Jedis. It's just bizarre.

We have a system where the guy carrying & unloading lumber to your truck is not owed a tip but a someone carrying food to your table is.

I’m done.. you don’t deserve a tip because I walked up to a counter to order a coffee or drink. My new favorite thing to do is watch their face when you hit no tip. Companies are paying less with the expectation that everyone will tip 20% or more on each transaction.
