Tinnitus (ringing of the ear)

Anyone experience this condition. It started over a week ago right after I completed my run in my neighborhood. It started all of a sudden in my right ear. Left ear is fine. Ive never had any problems or been exposed to a noise that could've have caused this. I was wearing ear buds and as soon as I took them out the ringing started. Went to my MD and gave me antibiotics for sinus infection, but still no change for the better. He referred me to an ENT and audiologist. After the hearing test they said I'm not picking up on high frequency sounds. Low frequency (bass sounds) is ok. He said everything looks ok as far a ear drum and the ear canal is clear, but he wants me to get a CT scan to look at the bones in my inner ear. From what I've read it's a symptom of something else that is wrong...hearing loss, circulatory problems, ear infection, medications, inner ear damage, etc. This ringing is extremely annoying. I may have to change my diet from what I've been reading to minimize the ringing. Apparently, it might be permanent, but can be managed. Can it be caused by excercising or running? The ENT asked me how my run was...if was very strenuous.
