Agree, and since the intruders are armed, then you know where to get cover as well since I would expect at least one of them will return fire.

Get my wife to get my girl and bring her to the boys room where my other two are. Lay in my hallway opposite my sons room and wait for them to file down.

Some people in this thread seem really paranoid. If these guys were smart at all they would rob you when you aren't home. Unless you owed these guys drug money or something.

Get down low on floor Similar to combat the intruders the enemy
Wife and kids on floor to a safe area
Open smoke grenade which rises
Take out their ability to see well they have to rely on their senses
Stay low
Anything that moves shoot to kill and keep moving never stay in one place.

When the hunter becomes the hunted that Is when things turn in your favor most intruders don't plan for this!

Tell the wife to get in the bathroom and lick the door. Grab the 9mm under my bed and the torch on the bedside table. Position myself between the bed and wall, while facing the door and call 911.

30 seconds from a dead sleep ain't much time. You need 10 to 15 just to realize what is going on.

Our floor plan has no exterior doors on one side of house. So the guys would have to funnel through a pinch point hallway to get to bedrooms.

Grab pistol, keys, and cell phone.
tell wife to arm an evade.
Run to kids room which is 20 yards down hallway. hit alarm panic button on way there (one button). speaker phone 911.

30 seconds have expired.


In room hit truck alarm button also and position kids in far corner behind dresser. Position myself at kids door way (looking down hallway) and kill first person who enters hallway. if pinch point remains viable stay there if not close door and retreat into room. Wife would now be in master closet, door closed, sitting on floor with cell phone on speaker dialed 911 and shotgun aimed at center of door. Unless she hears the code word clearly from me she is to fire two 00 buck loads through door if the handle twitches.






I have no desire to shoot anyone. If they hear alarms and leave, great. If they ransack house and take everything but fail to enter the bedroom hallway where we are, great. If they breech hallway or either of our personal protective spaces we will need body bags.

30 seconds isn't a lot of time. Thank goodness I have a monster that sleeps in my room. He would buy me enough time to get my wife and kids in the bathroom while I grab my knife and gun.

Scary situation, but you don't have many options when someone is breaking into your home whIle you're in a vulnerable state.

It's a tough call. I live in Jackson and people get their homes broken into and raped and murdered. You can't always predict when evil will strike.

A man here just died in prison. He took the life of an elderly couple after he broke into their homes. Just an awful story.

Tell wife to crawl under bed and call 911.

Glock the three guys as soon as possible.

My dogs would be in the middle of all this so I predict some chaotic moments.
