No half ton or gas for me. Had a black 3/4 ton diesel once. Once. Never again. Keeping it clean broke me of owning any black vehicle.

ill make it real brief, too high a price for too little truck... its the market really, nothing out there today ford/gmc/toyo/ect is worth what the sticker...

I remember paying $8500 cash for a new 1985 chev 4x4 v8; same truck minus a few option will set you back $35,000 easy...

Hyperinflation of truck prices is absolutely stupid. The sticker on my dad's F150 was almost $70k. A fricking half-ton truck costs more than his first house did. I just don't understand the point of spending that much money on such a rapidly depreciating asset. Plus, it's got that ecoboost engine and is probably to lose all compression at about 70,000 miles.

I had an All Star Toyota salesman tell me straight up that even though most of their new Tundras flooded and they were covered by the insurance claim, they're still going to sell them because those trucks are around $60k.

I can't believe it.

That's a tad on the illegal side.... They'd get hammered by lawsuits and fines

I'm just saying what he told me.

I was under the impression they had to be crushed, but apparently they just give them a salvage title.

Fixed it for you

"Financed a depreciating asset for $50,000 over 8 years, that will be worth $30,000 in two years and $15,000 in five years and you wont be able to read a single button in three years. It is a chevy afterall"

Im kidding, nice truck.

Negative friend. Additionally traded in my 08 Dodge Ram 1500 that I had paid 31k for, got 8 good years and got 17k back on.

Your numbers are off.

I was joking with you, if you got 17 trade for an 8 year old truck, then used truck prices have climbed higher than I thought.

Kept it nice, had 3 deployments in it, just over 50k miles and had it with me on Hawaii for 3 years, helped with the low miles

Dad bought a brand new Tacoma in 2010 for 26k off the lot.

Traded it in last year for 22k.

I was a Z71/Chevy man for years until I test drove the new Z71 vs F150. I'm driving a Ford now.

Is yours one of the new twin turbo 6 bangers?

If so, how do you like it.

Been a Ford man all my life but these new Chevy's and GMC's got me wanting a new one pretty bad.

I've always leaned ford but in the latest line of trucks, GM beats the shite out of ford in the looks department. It's almost like they aren't in the same category.

They probably are going to try to buy them back from the insurance company or at auctions. It would have a salvage title and flood disclosures on it though.

People have forgotten that you can negotiate heavily on trucks. The MSRP is a wildly inflated number and should not be used to determine a good price for a truck.

The "luxury truck" market is the most lucrative in the auto industry. Extremely high profit. I can't see paying more than 35k for a truck.
