Thoughts on Nashville?

Looking to possibly move there for an extended internship beginning in the summer. I've never been before so I am looking for some insight into everyday life, social scene, etc. Fwiw, I just turned 24.

I live here.
It's incredible. Don't tell anyone though, were full.

I turned 28 today. Been here since 22. Best young person city in the southeast.

Good town. There's lots to do. Caterpillar can tell you more.

Depends on where you're coming from, what your other options are, and if you're going to lose your mind when you have to drive in the snow?

I'd love to hear more...I'm a huge outdoor fan so I know at the very least Nashville has that going for it.

damn nice city with a nice identity and a fairly robust economy...it is rare to have the opportunity to "try out" a city before you have to get on with real life, so don't miss the opportunity.

Aside from the fact that caterpillar lives there it's a great city

Moved back home to New Orleans after living in Nashville for 4 years. Also lived in DC and Baltimore. If I did not have kids and a desire to raise my kids by family, I would have never left. It's a great place for young professionals, people with kids, and for old people to retire to. I miss it a lot, but I'm still glad to be home.

Visited there several times on business. Very nice town. Would consider retiring there.

Not at all, originally from Dallas but grew up in S. Louisiana most of my life.

Awesome town. Grandparents have lived there (about 20-30 min outside of town) for almost 30 years.
If I could ever convince my wife, that's where I want us to move to.
Plenty to see and do downtown (nightlife, concerts, etc). several large lakes in the area that you can boat/fish/ski on.

Lots of outdoor stuff from lakes to small mountains to hunting, etc.
Unlimited...and I mean unlimited...amount of things to do in terms of entertainment. The best concerts, hockey, nfl, outdoors stuff, etc.
Low crime, great economy, great growth, TONS of young people from alllll over, etc.
My group of friends comes from 15-20 different colleges from all over. It's really great.
Down sides are expensive homes and traffic. It has grown so fast the last 10 years those things haven't caught up, but the housing development is close to catching up.

Caterpillar, sell me on leaving Atlanta for Nashville. My parents live there and I've considered the move. Seems like a great city for young people, but it's hard for me to claim it's marginally better than ATL.
