I was bored just now and was cleaning out my inbox and saw that I have over 2,000 emails in "Junk".

I poked my head in there and some of the shite is downright unbelievable... I wonder who would respond to a ridiculously poorly worded email, from an unknown sender, asking for any type od personal details?

I mean, it occurs to me that they're targeting really, REALLY, **REALLY** stupid people and really stupid people don't have email addresses... all of you assholes are the exception to this position.

I'd rather it than what the USPS delivers.

I wonder what magnitude of space is wasted worldwide on junk email. I don't even bother to delete it from my mailbox. Stuff is just building up.

The bothersome part is that companies just sell your data for a penny or so and you end up with hundreds of junk emails.

Spam snail mail has to be a waste of money. I know I check to see if there is anything "important" and if not it goes from the mailbox to the trash can. If it wasn't for snail mail, I would probably get something in the mail 2 or 3 times a week, but I guess its effective otherwise they wouldn't continue to send it.. i guess.

An email address is required to make an account to post on TD... Soooo I'm going to have to disagree with that.

Solid first post, fairly literate, a bit snarky; overall I rate it a 6.5. Probably a lurker, possibly an alter but that's OK.

A would have been a nice touch but those things come with practice.

I had an aversion to emoticons at first, I rarely use them in texting, but here they are used aplenty in context.

I think they should charge 1/100 of a cent per email sent. Most people would never pay a dime, but these mass junk emails would have to pay and hopefully it would deter them from getting sent.

You'd also think they'd target it a little better. Surprisingly I'm not actually a middle-aged male needing help with getting it up and meeting hot single chicks in my area.

A guy I work with opens junk and spam email all the time then comes to me to ask what he needs to do to respond to the email! UGH drives me crazy. I tell him over and over do not open an email he does not know who the sender is but he keeps ignoring me.

What are y'all doing with your emails that you get so much junk?

Use a burner email for signing up for websites and stuff that don't really matter.

Don't post your email on websites/message boards.

I've been able to avoid junk in personal and business emails with relative ease this way.

Maybe our company has really good spam filters I don't know about though.

It's easier to report it to spam to my email client than it is to click the link and go to the site to stop getting it.

I think that's why they're still alive. If they can live in your spam folder, that's good enough for them!

You no like junk mail?

I may stop doing mailers, I feel that 95% of them are tossed before being read. It is one of the ways you target older people. I only target two zip codes though.
70065 and 70005.

My main email account is 16 years old. It has thousands of unread emails. I have two burner accounts, two business accounts, two TD accounts (name change) two personal accounts and the three employee accounts I have access to.
