Thoughts on Grandparents correcting and/or spanking your kids?

I believe it should be left to the parents for discipline.

99.9% of the time it's grandparents who need to be disciplined for allowing grandkids to run wild.

They should definitely be able to.
My Grandpa has given my cousins and I multiple arse whippins when we were younger.
I respect them more for it.
ETA: On the other hand, my other grandparents babied my sisters and when they don't get what they want, they act like little brats

We always 100% told the grandparents in front of the kids, if they needed their butts beat, have at it.

Grandparents should definitely be allowed to correct their grandchildren. As far as spanking, I think they should discuss that with the parents.
Hell, I'm just an uncle and I correct my nephews as needed when they're with me.

I do correct my kids. I guess I should lay out the situation:
I corrected (put my kid in timeout) once and spanked him once already for a non-related matter. My niece, who is a manipulative liar (5 y.o.) told my MIL my son had thrown something. she gets in his face and yells at him at the top of her lungs.
Was I wrong to tell her that she should bring that to me and let me handle it instead of taking the word of her favorite grandkid? (only girl)

Well first of all, my parents are not gona do anything close to what they did to me.
I asked them what happened to them and why are they so soft? The answer was, "it's your turn. We are grand parents now. We will correct as necessary but that is up to you. We kept you out the penitentiary and now it's your turn."

If the kids are acting like shits and nobody is doing anything about it, the garbage man should be able to verbally correct them.
Parents get first crack at the spankings, though grandparents should be allowed if the parents are out to lunch.

I got my arse whipped many times by my grandparents. My grandmother would make me go pick out the switch, and it better be a good one. I've given the same permission to my parents.
