Looks like this motion passed and will be built.

Everything's big in Texas, the adage goes. However, the $70 million price tag of a new high school stadium in McKinney has widen some eyes and raised some brows, according to The Dallas Morning News newspaper.
The 12,000-seat stadium, which would be shared by three schools, is scheduled for completion in 2017. McKinney Independent School District officials say rising concrete prices have pushed the cost to superlative status, and caused some to label it as the the most expensive high school stadium ever.

And Allen's stadium is less than 15 minutes away.

Build it and they will come I guess. It worked for Allen, they are National contenders on a regular basis.

No doubt about it. Lots of growth and money in McKinney and Allen.

Different ISDs.
And frisco high schools will be playing in the Cowboys new facility. At least McKinney and frisco stadiums share multiple high schools and will be used for a number of other events. Allen's is for one school.

Well the old stadium was pretty shitty 16 years ago when I was at school there
Also I think multiple schools in McKinney will use it
Only had one high school when I was there, growing quick

I know. I live in Allen. Very impressive to see.

McKinney and Allen are two of the fastest growing cities in the country. Collin county is the 7th fastest growing county in the country. Collin county is going to be a fricking nightmare of people in 20 years. They're already planning another north south expressway, and I think 2 east west ones to alleviate traffic on 75 and 635. Things are booming here with Toyota et al moving in down the road.

Well hi neighbor, I'm on the McKinney Allen border, a block away from this new stadium site

Can remember riding my bike up to Frisco when it was little more than a stoplight and a water tower.
Now they have eight 5A high schools.

IIRC the contractor fixed everything. And that title is a joke, it wasn't "falling apart"

Allen is a great place to live if you can afford it. The amount of things to do and how maintained and groomed everything is, is really remarkable.

If there's so much money why not put your kids in a private school?

Why would you when DFW public schools are probably the best in the nation?

Some places have good public schools. Schools are only as good as the students. Good kids, good schools.
