Here’s Kawasaki rider James Hillier attacking the corner of the TT course known as Ballagarey, or as the commentators correctly nickname it, Balla-Scary. And, well, just watch the clip. Several times. Words can’t really do justice to the nerve, commitment and sheer balls needed to refuse to drop the bike when it goes out of control like this.

My son and I have been watching this. It's insane how dangerous this race is.

As for this guy, one thing saved him there, that's is the fact he did not panic and kept his cool.

That doesn't look nearly as dramatic as you make it sound.

And yes, I get it that bikes are really hard to control at that speed.

You've used that response already. And no.

A guy last weekend went over his handle bars at 140 mph and only ended up with a sprained elbow. He just sat afterwards with an icepack on his elbow saying "I'm lucky, I'm lucky".

He was millimeters away from being either a corpse, a cripple, or a vegetable.

I'm sure the high speed had a gyroscopic effect on the bike too.

Announcer said he was in fifth gear when that happened.....on a race bike. He wasn't doing 25 mph.

You're right. He basically let the bike and it's momentum correct the situation instead of trying to do it himself. That's what saved him.

He would have been safer if he waited until he was at least 35 before he started riding
