I've also never agreed with the whole public proposal thing unless you are 100% sure she's going to say yes. That's a private moment imo and not something that should come with added pressure to say yes.
No there is certainly nothing wrong with not doing it, but I don't think there is anything wrong with doing it. lol. I mean this lady just seemed a little crazy.

Most was an exaggeration, as there are a lot that don't touch on anything political at all and stay pretty focused on career issues, investing, sports, etc.
Most subreddits that are either community focused on individual cities or regions, or even just general discussion are super far left though (not even considering the politically focused ones).
Then there are also some that are so out of touch with reality that it can interesting just to read some of it from time to time, like antiwork, socialism, late stage capitalism, etc.

My question is, if she moved on and has been in another (presumabaly happy) relationship with someone else for 3 years, why the frick is she starting a post about this? Just for validation after 5 years?

Comments in all kinds of random subs have been so awful with the covid shite. People couldn't even ask how to cook a damn casserole in the cooking subreddit without being attacked for the possibility of "gathering" for Thanksgiving.
I'll be in random cosmetic/makeup or fashion subs and have to scroll past some long arse comment conversation where someone is warning everyone not to buy a product because the CEO donated money to Trump one time. Its ridiculous.

Pretty sure that’s against Reddit’s site wide rules too. But the more prominent Reddit sub mods are power trippers and the site admins are pretty buddy buddy with them.

Yeah, my local sub is a fascinating peek into the minds of people who need community help to find their way around their own neighborhoods to get to a takeout restaurant or barbershop. Basically they need help using google or yelp. And yet they post the most strident and hateful dogmatic Leftist nonsense on everything from elections to covid.

Many of the text bases subs suffer from that. I think some of the stories are real but maybe exaggerated. A lot of them read like fan fiction. They know what gets the praise and upvotes. If you go to “today I fricked up”, all the stories will be along the lines of “Today I accidentally fricked up by cumming on my GF’s face. She was mad. The end.” 7K upvotes and 10 awards.

The awards crack me up; do people actually pay money for that? Someone gave me like 100 gold coins on one of the circlejerks, and all it lets you do is give awards to other users.
